To those of us who grew up in a period in which Britain did not even officially admit to possessing a foreign intelligence service (that admission was made only in 1994), it still seems somewhat unreal that Rowman & Littlefield have by now published 19 substantial volumes in their significantly titled Security and Professional Intelligence Education Series (look at the initials). This volume attempts to survey the domestic and foreign intelligence services of 31 European countries (not quite the entire continent, as Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia and Moldova are missing).
