Now that the World Bibliographical Series (WBS) is running out of countries to cover, two mechanisms for continuing the series have been triggered: first, an extension of the series to include regions and capital cities (Madrid, Prague, Basque Region, Punjab); and, second, the preparation of new and enlarged editions, either by the original author(s), or by recruiting new expertise.
