This volume is one of a ten‐volume series; the Routledge History of Philosophy. The book starts with a chronology of the subject matter of the book and major events and publications in general philosophy and science and technology. In the introduction the editor comments on the breakdown of barriers between subjects and the convergence of mathematics and logic.
