Scotland’s Place‐names

The book is an alphabetical list of Scottish place name elements with an index of actual place names mentioned in the main body of the text. Thus under eas (= waterfall) Dorward explains the meaning of Dalness, Bunessan, Glen Moriston, Fetteresso and others. (I did not always find his guidance on the pronunciation of Gaelic elements very clear.)
