Internationaler Biographischer Index des Militärwesens/World Biographical Index of Military Affairs

Throughout the 1980s, and continuing into the 1990s, K.G. Saur evaluated, compiled and reproduced on fiche a number of biographical archives pertaining to specific languages or cultural spheres in a single sequence alphabetical format. Some countries’ biographical source material proved so vast that the first series of archives covered from the late sixteenth to the end of the nineteenth century. The twentieth century was covered in a second series. Subsequently, multi‐volume printed indexes were made available, locating individual items by fiche and frame numbers.
