As Antonia Forster explains in the Preface to her important study “Index to Book Reviews in England 1775‐1800 is an index to reviews of 4,984 works of poetry, fiction and drama reviewed between 1775 and 1800”. Journals covered include “major review journals” such as the Monthly Review, Analytical Review, British Critic, New Review, Anti‐Jacobin Review, and the New London Review. “The major magazines” covered are the Gentleman’s Magazine, London Magazine, Town and Country Magazine, and the European Magazine.
