The appearance of another title in the Guides to Information Sources series is a pleasure indeed. Detailed, authoritative, thorough and well‐produced, they are a reference librarian’s book par excellence. This latest offering maintains the high standard of the others despite, judging from the editor’s frank and illuminating introduction, considerable problems in getting it finished. The sheer number of countries concerned, the differing patterns of publication and definitions of government in each, and the difficulty of finding enough people with the knowledge and skill to contribute (the editor herself seems to have had to plug a few gaps) were problems...
