The Los Angeles Watts Towers

The Watts Towers, thought to be the largest structure made by just one man, can be described as a folk art, assemblage construction, and are located in the Watts district of South‐central Los Angeles. Built over a period of 34 years, 1921‐1955, the Towers, consisting of 17 sculptures (three tall spires, two walls, a gazebo, several smaller towers, a ship, patio and other structures) are the work of an uneducated, Italian immigrant and labourer called Simon Rodia.
