Originally produced as a hardback in l991, this revised edition is published, as was the first, with the support of the Scottish Post Office Board. The Board is to be congratulated for its discerning choice of a book both beautiful and authoritative. This is no coffee table tome but a really excellent survey (the publishers claim “the most comprehensive overview of Scotland and its environment ever published”) of the present state of Scotland’s wildlife and published at a very interesting time for the country.
