The second edition of the African Studies Companion is a welcome revision to the first edition after a lapse of almost ten years. The companion continues to be compact and serves well the purpose of providing easy access to a wide range of information in the African Studies field. The publication has been divided into 11 sections as in the previous edition. The total number of entries has grown from 667 to 935 and another 40 entries were dropped, thus adding about 300 new entries.
