The care and thought that goes into dictionary making is something that should impress reference librarians. Attention to detail, logical arrangement and up‐to‐dateness are all features we cherish. No surprise that this new offering from HarperCollins exhibits all these features. The two dictionary sections, German to English, and English to German, have the standard phonetic transcription, grammatical information(with different parts of speech categories separately indicated),and different meanings (also separately indicated by italicised synonyms in parantheses), and, where necessary, subject fields.
