From the indigenist cover illustration by Eusebio Díaz Alejandro through to the many pages of notes on the brilliant galaxy of contributors, everything about these two hefty, beautifully printed volumes is impressive. After long months of regular use, I find very little of consequence to criticise. The contributions are unswervingly scholarly and competently presented, the editing is exemplary, the thorough and extensive coverage of topics quite admirable.
