Obituaries in the Performing Arts, 1998 is the latest volume in a series that started in 1994: at least that’s what Whitaker’s Books in Print tells me, though the Library of Congress Catalog has it as 1996 ‐ the volume itself is silent on the matter. Perhaps the publisher would tell us. Back numbers would be useful. The book provides an alphabetical listing of 566 celebrities who died in 1998. “Performing arts” is elaborated in the book’s subtitle as “film, television, radio, theatre, dance, music, cartoons and pop culture”.
