Directory of Organisations in Allied and Complementary Health Care

This is a very peculiar little ragbag. Over the past few years there has been an ever‐increasing popular interest in non‐conventional forms of medical treatment. In terms both of cash turnover and numbers employed “alternative medicine” has long overtaken, for example, the steel industry, even in this country, let alone the USA. The British Library has, for some years, offered a bibliographic Allied & Complementary Medical Database, and as a spin‐off has now attempted to produce a directory of organisations in the area, both in Britain and in Europe.
