English Grammar for Students of Latin: 2nd edition: The Study Guide for Those Learning Latin

In my day it was Kennedy (1962) and by the time of “O” levels we were expected to have its contents pretty well by heart (and often enough by rote); English grammar we were assumed to have learned, or be learning, in the appropriate classes. Such educational and curricular methods have long, apparently, been out of date: I have no desire to join the “O tempora, o mores!” brigade but I must wonder what is missed without such an infrastructure to language learning beyond a superficial level.
