While there is little in the way of truly international content in this work it does provide a useful backdrop to a rapidly emerging subject. The authors take North America to be the home of electronic commerce and as a result the vast majority of the text is related to US law, US taxation, US banking and I suppose US commerce. This approach is slightly disappointing because one of the issues fundamental to electronic commerce is the global nature of its marketplace and its manufacturing base.
