Arthur Ransome: A Bibliography

As older librarians will well remember, Arthur Ransome was the first winner of the Carnegie Medal awarded by the Library Association to the writer of the best children’s book of the year. That was in 1937 and the award was for Pigeon Post. It was not by any means the first of the Swallows and Amazons books. Actually it was the sixth in the series, so it would appear that the LA was rather slow to recognise Ransome’s merits.
