One of this reviewer’s regular needs is to consult earlier versions of the Cumulated Fiction Index before travelling to foreign parts in order to read novels set in those places. Reading Patricia Highsmith’s Those Who Walk Away prior to a visit to Venice is an absolute essential part of the experience. So it was with a very favourable attitude that this book was approached.
