The Moths and Butterflies of Great Britain and Ireland, Volume 4

Reading my previous reviews of volumes of this, the most important work on the British Lepidoptera currently available, I seem to have got rather confused (89/327; 92/203; 97/108). I said in 1992 that the final set would comprise 12 parts. In 1997 I was pleased to note that, with the publication of volume three the series was now over half way to completion. Not so! Things have changed and seven volumes in nine parts have now been produced out of a total of 11 volumes. (Volumes four, seven and eight are each in two parts.) This shows what a living...
