Chambers Book of Facts (new edition)

I’m not sure which edition this “updated edition” is. The imprint tells us that the first edition was published in 1992, that “this edition” was published in 1998, but that “revised editions” were published in 2000 and 2002. My suspicion that Chambers have a massive database continuously updated, and that from time to time a button is pressed to generate another “edition”, is confirmed on checking the 1992 “version” which, fortuitously, was on my shelves. “This book,” stated the imprint, “includes information assembled for Chambers Quick Facts, extensively revised and updated.” This 1992 edition, incidentally, had “150,000 facts covering...
