Stanley Wells, the distinguished Shakespearian scholar, and Sarah Stanton, of the Cambridge University Press, co‐edit this collection of 15 essays. The focus is on Shakespeare in performance, on “past and present productions of the plays” and as an accompaniment to “the increasing number of courses devoted to the history of Shakespeare in performance” (p. x).
