This volume is intended as a successor to the Dictionary of Liturgy and Worship, edited by Davies (1972, 1986). Many of the headings are carried over from the previous volume but all the entries are completely new. Although the remit of the dictionary is not set out (something not helpful to a reviewer), it clearly aims to cover all aspects of the worship and liturgy of the widest range of bodies which can be considered part of the Christian church, examining both history and contemporary developments.
