The Timeline of Art History (TOAH) contains an extensive history of world art as it relates to the Met’s own collection. TOAH is a work‐in‐progress. Begun in 2000, the Met has been building TOAH for the past three years and hopes to have it completed by fall 2004. Currently, the timeline spans from 20,000 BC to 1600 AD, which might be enough for some art enthusiasts, but for any user looking at the timeline for academic purposes, the 400 years that are missing make the Web site less than helpful.
