This guide, intended for researchers, performers, teachers, students and music librarians, lists the art songs of composers of the western world. It identifies the poets of the lyrics, the titles of songs set by those composers, and cross‐references from variant titles and first lines, publishers, locations of songs in the collected works of individual composers, and dates of compositions.
