2003 Conservation Directory: the Guide to Worldwide Environmental Organizations (48th edition)

I am somewhat puzzled about this directory. A strapline running across the cover proclaims “[T]he guide to worldwide environmental organizations” so I naturally turned to the geographic index to see which organizations were listed under UK. But what’s this? Only 16 are included and a strange ragbag at that. There is no sign of English Nature, the Countryside Council for Wales or Scottish Heritage. Nor are there entries for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the National Trust or the county Wildlife Trusts. Also absent are the Botanical Society of the British Isles, Plantlife, the Mammal Society and...
