The Encyclopedia of Folk Medicine is a compilation of ailments and remedies that has characterised folk medicine in Britain and North America from the sixteenth century to the present. This title is the first comprehensive comparison of British and North American folk medicine practices and beliefs and brings together information from a wide variety of sources, including oral traditions and manuscripts, on a theme on contemporary relevance.
