This resource, as its title suggests, provides over 4,000 entries of place names in France and Corsica. It includes entries on cities, rivers, mountains, islands, modern departments, historical cities and provinces. An expert in toponymy, lexicography and onomastics, the author has written numerous reference resources in these disciplines including Placenames of the World (RR 1997/422), African Placenames, A Dictionary of Pseudonyms (RR 2005/54) and Placenames of Russia.
