Encyclopedia of Caves

The editors of this volume have brought together around 100 experts to produce 107 articles on various aspects of caves. Although they admit that not everything could be covered, Culver and White have aimed at a broad span of topics, including some like caves in myths, show caves, Mayan caves and saltpetre mining, which might not be the ones that instantly come to mind. All the expected topics are present. If there is any bias it might be towards cave biology, which is no bad thing as this is an area where information is not easily available.
