George Newlin has already compiled two similar works on Dickens (Newlin, 1995 and 1996). He has now turned his attention to Trollope and has produced a truly astounding work of reference. Trollope's output and range are vast, since he wrote 47 novels as well as short stories, travel books, an autobiography and numerous articles (some of which Newlin has identified for the first time). Newlin's comprehensive table, How Much Did He Write?, shows that Trollope's number of words comes to 11,817,185!
