AllRefer claims to be “a hub of good reference information containing outstanding database [sic] of articles and reference materials”. The information seems authoritative; most of the entries are from the Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia (c. 2003) (www.columbia.edu/cu/cup/cee/cee.html), ADAM: Health Illustrated Encyclopedia (wwwnlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/encyclopedia.html) (which provides the medical articles) and US government sources, including the CIA and Library of Congress. The site is thickly encrusted with advertisements, some moving, flashing, and/or making noise. Searches often yield a list of advertisements first, with the information sought located farther down on the page. Some searches yield no actual information, but still...
