In the USA, environmental regulations are contained in the Environmental Protection Agency's Code of Federal Regulations Title 40, usually referred to as 40 CRF. This document contains over 5,000 definitions. What James King has done here and in the previous editions of The Environmental Regulatory Dictionary, the last of which was in 1995, is to collect these definitions in alphabetical order with a reference to the section of 40 CRF where they occur.
