This title, issued as the Dictionary of Afghan Wars, Revolutions, and Insurgencies, was the first volume published in the Scarecrow Press Historical Dictionaries of War, Revolution, and Civil Unrest series in 1996. Such is the continuing bloody history of Afghanistan that this work is the first one of the 30‐strong series to be revised.
