Encyclopedia of the New American Nation: The Emergence of the United States, 1754‐1829

The Encyclopedia of the New American Nation intends to provide “comprehensive access to the history and development of the events, trends, movements, technologies, cultural and social changes, political ideas and systems, and intellectual trends that have shaped America” – a very ambitious task. It covers the period of three wars (French and Indian, American Independence, 1812), the French Revolution, Shays Rebellion and the Whiskey Rebellion as well as the political, demographic, and socio‐economic factors related to those wars and the development of a constitution and government.
