Neil Salkind has written books on both statistics and measurement for people who (think they) hate the topics, as well as many papers and texts, so one knows that this three‐volume encyclopedia will be user‐friendly. The book, as its title explains, is more than a large dictionary of statistics, also covering measurement. The other point to note is that the measurements and statistical analysis relate to sociology, including business studies, education, human development, and psychology.
