Encyclopedia of Italian Literary Studies

While adopting the standard layout of the best multi‐volume encyclopedias, namely alphabetical and thematic lists followed by entries arranged alphabetically with see and see also references, and concluding with an analytical index (preliminary matter and index feature in both volumes), there are enough departures from the norm to give this encyclopaedia a measure of individuality. The fact that there are just three categories of entry in the thematic list of entries gives a measure of this.
