A Dictionary of Environment and Conservation

The dictionary contains over 8,000 entries that cover an extensive range of environmental and conservation related subjects. The entries are broad ranging, but can sometimes be puzzling in their omissions. Whilst “monkey wrenching” gets its own entry on page 286, no cross‐reference is made to Edward Abbey who did so much to popularise the term denoting environmental sabotage with his 1975 novel the Monkey Wrench Gang (Abbey, 1975).
