I ran into some practical problems in trying to review this book. My normal procedure is to do most of my review reading on commuter trains. I then garner expert professional advice by the simple system of strolling into the Institute of Psychiatry or the Maudsley Hospital staff canteens at tea‐break time with the book tucked casually under my arm so I can slip it into any appropriate gaps in the conversation.
