The Hurricane Digital Memory Bank (HDMB) attempts to preserve the historical experiences of those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This website is freely accessible to all, produced and maintained by the Center for History and New Media of George Mason University and the University of New Orleans. Since its launch in November 2005, the HDMB has accumulated over 25,000 digital items about the storms' impact on the Gulf Coast including textual submissions, blog entries, e‐mails, hyperlinks to external sites, images, video clips, and oral accounts as MP3 downloads and podcast feeds.
