In 2005, Thames & Hudson published The Complete Fashion Sourcebook, an illustrated volume with over 2,100 drawings recording the ways in which fashion changed from 1920 to the 1980s using John Peacock's renowned fashion illustrations (Peacock, 2005). Now, the same publisher offers the researcher a similar approach, combining the studies of two classic nineteenth century illustrators, Auguste Racinet and Friedrich Hottenrath alongside a modern text by seven present‐day contributors drawn from leading US academic institutions.
