The British Book Trade, 1475‐1890: A Bibliography

In addition to his important work on Shakespearean and Jacobean textuality, pioneering studies on the compositor Ralph Crane (fl. 1555‐1632) represented for instance by his Ralph Crane and Some Shakespeare's First Folio Comedies (Howard‐Hill, 1972), Trevor Howard‐Hill (b. 1933) is the doyen of bibliographers. The two volume The British Book Trade, 1475‐1890: A Bibliography complements his monumental nine‐volume Index to British Literary Bibliography (Howard‐Hill, 1969‐) and his British Book Trade Dissertations to 1980 (Howard‐Hill, 1998).
