Scholarship on the American Great Plains, that broadly defined geographical region ranging from the vast expanses of Alberta and Saskatchewan in the north down through the American Heartland to the Mexican border, has been somewhat hampered by the lack of reference sources to bring together the disparate books, articles, and other publications on the area.
