Oxford University Press came under considerable criticism from conservative press and websites towards the end of 2008 for the revisions that it made to its Oxford Junior Dictionary. No such flurry surrounds the appearance of a revised edition of A Dictionary of British History. This is essentially, in its general emphasis, quite a traditional version of British history. It very much focuses on the political.
