It is, I suppose, an obvious indication of growing old, when you think that you have fairly recently reviewed a book and feel just about on top of its subject matter, then all of a sudden a new and revised edition pops up on you. It really does not seem like eight years since I reviewed the first edition of this excellent tome for Reference Reviews, (RR 2003/56) but here is the new version, as large as life (or in fact, slightly larger – the first edition was a bit of a monster at 761 pages.
