There are many companion books on medieval English life, religion, culture, politics, and influence. These books are dubbed “quick guides” on these topics, edited scholarly essays that provide not only an interesting perspective on the topic from a multicultural or multidisciplinary view, but also provide the contributing scholars with another publishing bullet on their curriculum vitae that is neither as extensive nor exhaustive as writing a book.
