Launched in 1997, the NOAA Photo Library provides a free digital archive of over 32,000 images compiled by personnel of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This archive includes images of weather phenomena and satellite imagery, scenic views of national parks and coastlines, and photographs of a variety of avian and marine species. Historical images of NOAA's ships, aircraft, satellites, and key personnel are also included in this digital library.
