This is, in the reviewer's opinion, simply the best single serious volume on the study of the Olympic Games movement produced to date. I have avoided the word academic because whilst all the contributions are indeed scholarly, they are not necessarily academic and will appeal to a broad cross section of interested groups as noted below.
