Gambling in America: An Encyclopedia of History, Issues, and Society is a second edition of a volume originally published in 2001. In the intervening years, William N. Thompson produced another reference work on gambling, namely, the two-volume set The International Encyclopedia of Gambling (Thompson, 2010). This was also published by ABC-Clio. Many of the entries in all three titles are virtually the same.
