This is a timely and well-crafted work, demonstrating in a persuasive and subtle way how worthwhile it is to revisit and re-evaluate John Ruskin (1819-1900). In his day, he was lionized for his many writings and lectures on art and architecture, taste and culture, social change and technological innovation and the environment.
