This illustrated and lengthy volume was written by a team of experts – both Muslim and Jewish – to respond to what the editors saw as scholarly, political and pedagogical needs. It was written as “‘a biography’ of a living and complex relationship” as noted in the Foreword (p. 7). The book was conceived and edited in France and simultaneously published in French and English.
