There has recently been a fashion for popular informative works with titles which state how many representative examples of their subject they have described; I suppose they started with A History of the World in 100 Objects (MacGregor 2010). This method has now been applied to Ireland: the book is probably intended for visitors to the Emerald Isle (both parts of which are included). It is a kind of informal and discursive guidebook, updated to the beginning of 2017.
